Mission Statement: The mission of the Deacons Ministry is to serve the members of the congregation by exercising love, compassion, hospitality, and care. A deacon is ordained to serve in the spirit of Matthew 23:11-12.  Jesus said, "He that is greatest among you shall be your servant."

Purpose: The purpose of the Deacons Ministry is to minister to the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of each member so that they may develop and maintain a healthy relationship with the church family, grow in their faith, and discover opportunities to use their God given spiritual gifts and talents for the good of this body of believers.

Duties: The Deacons duties are to:

• Assist the Pastor in implementing his vision and programs;
• Serve as assistants to, and armor bearers for, the Pastor;
• Assist in the worship, baptismal and communion services;
• Visit the bereaved, the sick and the shut-in, providing spiritual and physical support;
• Attend Sunday School and Bible Study;
• Provide for the supply of the pulpit in the absence or illness of the Pastor;
• To train candidates for membership and assist them in assimilating into the church family;
• Engage in church activities that promote evangelism and missionary service;
• Provide a Quarterly report to the church as to the status of the church membership; and to
• Work with the Pastor to discipline members, as warranted by unethical or inappropriate behavior.
